Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by a representative from Apoorva tours. We will drive you to your hotel and get you booked in so you can unwind from your travels, rest and relax. Later we will show you around the popular for tourist area that is the Thamel District where you will find all the services you require including restaurants, supermarkets ATM machines and money exchange facilities. In addition if you have forgotten anything you may need on the trip you will have an opportunity to buy it now.Once back at your overnight hotel we will have a chat about the upcoming tour and possible options, and you will get to meet our team and the guides who will accompany you throughout the tour.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing

Today you will be visiting some of the any places of interest around Kathmandu, for example:
The Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most important Temples in the world for Hindu devotees and it is located close to a location for Hindu cremations on the banks of Bagmati River.
This highly decorative Hindu Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is dedicated to the Lord Shiva. The Temple features a pagoda style of architecture and has a gilded roof, its silver plated entrance doors are guarded by statues of various deities In the rafters you can see effigies of various members of Shiva’s family. However, whilst only Hindus are permitted inside the Temple its exterior is remarkable and well worth the visit. Outside you will see many Sadhus (holy men), and during February or March the annual festival Maha Shivaratri which is dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva is celebrated here.
The Boudhanath Stupa – is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the holiest Tibetan Buddhist Temple outside Tibet. The main section is over 328ft (100m) in diameter and its length is about 360ft (120m). Boudhanath is one of the largest Stupa in the world, it has 4 eyes to represent the all-seeing ability of the Buddha; they face four prime directions constantly seeking out human success and virtuous behaviour. Nirvana is represented by the Stupa’s nose.
The Swayambhunath – is an ancient religious Temple site possibly dating back to 460 A.D it is the oldest of its kind in Nepal and important for both Buddhists and Hindus. This Stupa and has many shrines and monasteries on its premises and is widely known as the “Monkey Temple”. This may be due to the colonies of monkeys that live there, or perhaps it is because “Monkey Temple” is much easier to pronounce than “Swayambhunath”.Overnight stay in your Hotel.

Day 03: Drive / fly to Chitwan

We will either drive or fly to Chitwan and then visit Tharu Village and Riverside Sunset View.We will visit the remarkable and totally authentic Tharu village. This tribe have lived here for many centuries and are largely self sufficient. They exist on a mixture of farming, fishing and hunting. The Tharu are officially recognised by the Nepalese government as a discreet nationality. They refer to themselves as “The People of the Forest” and have a unique culture and way of life which you will be privileged to experience.Later you can sit back, relax and enjoy a beautiful sunset over the river with the forest providing a magnificent backcloth.Overnight in your Hotel.

Day 04: Chitwan Sightseeing

Chitwan National Park was first national park in Nepal. It was established in 1973 and granted World Heritage status in 1984. Elephant back safari is the most popular and adventurous way to encounter the abundant wildlife in Chitwan. Species include rare one-horned rhinos and elusive Royal Bengal Tigers and also numerous of varieties of birds and reptiles. Additionally experienced Mahouts will guide you deep into the forest ensuring the best possible close up sightings. Day 05: Drive to Lumbini

We will drive to Lumbini and visit Mayadevi Temple.
The Mayadevi temple is the most important site in the Lumbini Garden. It enshrines the traditional location of Buddha’s birth and is one of the major attractions of Lumbini.
The nearby Ashoka Pillar bears Inscriptions indicating that it is the exact spot as his birthplace. Tradition has it that the newly born Prince Siddhartha who eventually became the Buddha took his first seven steps here and also, from this spot, went on to deliver his peace message to humanity.

Day 06 : Lumbini tour

The sacred area of Lumbini is located in the Terai plains of southern Nepal and today we will be exploring the places of importance at Lumbini , these will include The sacred Garden, The Monastic zone and the new Lumbini village zone.
The Gautam Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautam or Shakyamuni Buddha is the founder of Buddhism and the light of Asia. The Lord Buddha was born here in Lumbini, Nepal in 623 BC. This is also further testified by the inscription on the pillar erected by the Mauryan Emperor Asoka in 249 BC. Lumbini is one of the holiest places of one of the world’s great religions. The remains at Lumbini contain important evidence about the nature of Buddhism. Lumbini has additionally been a focus for pilgrimage from as early as the 3rd century BC.

Day 07: Drive to pokhara and lakeside view

Today we will drive to Pokhara and on arrival we will enjoy a relaxing evening and have a stroll around the picturesque lakeside and will enjoy the spectacular evening view of the Annapurna range and the world famous fishtail mountain.

Day 08: Pokhara Sightseeing

We will be visiting places of interest around Pokhara such as: Davis falls, Mahendra cave, Phewa lake Two-stored temple of Barahi , Bhagwati temple and will have a chance to enjoy a boating trip.
Pokhara is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. It is situated on the banks of the Phewa Lake which is the second largest lake of Nepal and the ideal place to take a peaceful boating trip. The reflection of Mount Macchapucchre (Fishtail) can be seen on this lake. Beyond the World Peace Stupa in Pokhara you will find the Davis falls and Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave which at 9,678 ft/2950 meters long is one of the longest in Nepal. The main cave comprises two chambers which house several shrines, the largest of which is dedicated to Shiva. Pokhara is also famous for boating, trekking, and extreme sports like rafting, zip-lining, canoeing and bungee jumping or even an exciting ultra-light (microlight) flight. Day 09: Back to Kathmandu via Manakamana Temple

We drive back to Kathmandu along the spectacular Prithvi Highway which winds through 128 miles (206km) of traditional Middle Hills countryside and past some of Nepal’s finer attractions including The Manakamana Devi temple which is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Bhagawati who is believed to be an incarnation of goddess Parvati.
The derivation of the name Manakamana is a combination of the words Mana (meaning heart) and Kamana (a wish ). This is because worshippers believe that the Goddess Manakamana is able to grant their hearts wishes.
It is worth checking out the fascinating story behind the legend of Manakamana Goddess.
Access to the temple is now fortunately by cable car thus avoiding a particularly strenuous climb.

Day 11: Departure
